A realistic operational experience is possible! From "theory" to "hands-on" education with VR - Forklift Edition.
By wearing an HMD and operating the handle controller, participants can actually become forklift operators and experience contact accidents, providing education aimed at accident prevention. There has been a background where safety education has primarily been classroom-based, which has not significantly contributed to the reduction of workplace accidents. Various safety education programs using VR have been developed mainly by large companies, but particularly in the case of forklifts, which have a high number of units in use nationwide and where obtaining a license is relatively easy, there are many instances that can lead to serious accidents. Therefore, we developed a package version that can be used by companies of all sizes, creating content that can contribute more effectively to accident prevention. The realism of the forklift in VR enhances the sense of presence, resulting in highly immersive content.
